A desperate Damon?

“I know what’s here in New York – you have the new Stadium, you have the great coaches, you have the great players,” Damon said. “You guys just have to tell Cash to get things going with me. I’m up for it.”

“I can help bring in new faces – the CC (Sabathias) and A.J. (Burnetts) – I know (the Yankees’ front office is) very proud of that,” Damon said. “Hopefully I’m still a part of that. I’ve worked so hard to help bring players along here, I don’t want to have to face them.”

From a “front office” perspective with regards to revenue – Matsui is the best option. However like he mentioned he has done some recruiting and would be an excellent clubhouse player (of course in addition to his skills). As much as I’d hate to see him leave, I’m all for Matsui back in pinstripes

Matsui is the best option for everything! Do we actually need Damon to bring people to the Bronx? Was this last offseason all because of Johnny Damon all of a sudden?
Did Damon convince Burnett to come to NY or did 16 million per year? Did Johnny get Tex to come or did 180 million?
If Damon wants to bring people to NY then be a cab driver or get a front office job… He isn’t worth more than 1 year and 8 million to play DH and other position for any more year or money is a complete waste!

People were also worried about losing Torre because he was a good recruiter. In the end, the Yankees have Derek Jeter, Joe Girardi, Nick Swisher, and CC, among others, and all would gladly court potential Yankees, I’m sure.
Damon sounds like he’s just trying to hard here.
