Turkey Bits: Moronta, Johnson, Duchscherer

November 26, 2009, 9:00 pm by iYankees · 1 Comment

Quickly, I just wanted to thank iYankees’ loyal readers. You guys are great and the traffic at our new domain continues to increase by the day (the site switch has been incredible). Thanks for your support and your readership.

With that said, here are some quick post-turkey bits:

  • The Yankees signed center fielder Eladio Moronta for $570,000.
  • Josh Johnson may not be traded this year, as the Marlins have other options.
  • Joe P. at RAB looks at Justin Duchscherer as a possible low-risk, high-reward guy.

I heard the Red Sox were interested in Justin as a 6th pitching option… I would much rather stay away from this guy and let them get him because I just don’t buy his mental status as strong enough to deal with the NY media and on top of that he didn’t pitch all of last year and last time he did he wasn’t exactly blowing people away.

You would do better signing Sheets or even Harden and his shoulder or Bedard and his head problems at least he would be a left handed head case.
