Here are a few quick items on the evening:
- The Marlins are apparently out of the Chapman sweepstakes. They just don’t have the funds.
- The rumors about David Cone not returning to the YES broadcast booth are, indeed, true.
- The Yankees’ 2009 coaching staff will, indeed, be returning for another go around in 2010.
- Ben at RAB points out that the Padres are interested in possible utility target, Jerry Hairston Jr.
- Mike over at RAB provides us with a great prospect profile on, who else, but Jesus Montero.
- For the first time in club history, the Yanks are taking their WS trophy outside the US and to the DR.
- In case you missed it earlier, Sergio Mitre has agreed to terms on a new deal with the Yanks.
