Quick Bits: Cano, Minors, Damon

Here are a few noteworthy items on the day:
- Here’s quite a conversation starter out about the “existence” of clutch, as it pertains to Robinson Cano.
- Mike Axisa at RAB points out some minor managerial moves in the lower levels of the Yankees’ farm system.
- When asked about signing Johnny Damon, Atlanta’s assistant GM, Bruce Manno, said, “Never say never.”
Here’s Manno’s response when pressed further about his quote:
”As we go forward, it just depends on how things fall for us,” he explained. “Things change daily for us. Evaluations change. Dollars change. Availability changes. But as of today, we like the club we have on the field. We feel that all the pieces we have we can fit in, and they all play significant roles for us.”
The Braves are still in the mix for Damon, but the Tigers appear to be the likelier landing spot.
