Joe Nathan on Granderson, A-Rod, Rivera

Recently, Justin Rodriguez of the Times Herald-Record spoke with Twins closer, Joe Nathan, and the 35-year old right-hander offered his opinion of the Yankees’ winter acquisition of outfielder, Curtis Granderson. “I think it was a great move for them,” noted Nathan. “He’s not only an outstanding ballplayer, but a great character guy, too. He does so many things well on and off the field. I think he’s going to handle New York well.” That’s a glowing endorsement if I’ve ever heard one. Nathan also discussed Alex Rodriguez’s “outstanding” abilities with a bat, and provided his view of Mariano Rivera as a “role model.” Be sure to check out the rest of Nathan’s comments. Pretty classy stuff.
