Via Marc Carig of the Star-Ledger (props to RAB), the Yankees have invited D.J. Mitchell (RHP), Dustin Moseley (RHP), Ryan Pope (RHP), Jorge Vazquez (1B), and the infamous Brandon Laird (1B/3B) to Spring Training. Moseley is actually former first-round pick, selected 34th overall (supplemental round) by Cincinnati in the 2000 draft. He was later traded to the Angels in 2004 for Ramon Ortiz. As an Angel, since 2006, Moseley has posted a 4.51 FIP (and a 5.41 ERA) over 168 innings. He’s the only stranger in the group, as the other guys are all in the Yankees’ system.
