Feds might question A-Rod about doctor Tony Galea

According to the Daily News, Alex Rodriguez might be interviewed by federal agents regarding Canadian doctor, Tony Galea, who is currently under investigation for drug violation charges after his assistant was arrested last October for possessing illegal drugs at the U.S.-Canadian border (the charges extend beyond possession, though, as Galea allegedly conspired to smuggle HGH and Actovegin into the U.S.). Last year, A-Rod’s rehab program following hip surgery was “managed” by Mark Lindsay, a Canadian chiropractor and supposed “associate” of Galea’s who also has ties to the BALCO scandal. Currently, Lindsay seems to be the only connection between Galea and A-Rod.

This matter, in my opinion, does not appear to be a major issue. Tiger Woods is another athlete that might be questioned regarding Galea and Jose Reyes was interviewed by federal agents last week. An A-Rod interview would just be another part of the information collection process. When asked about the situation, Brian Cashman told the Daily News that he is unaware of any subpeona for A-Rod, so I guess we’ll have to wait and see where this goes.

UPDATE (2:10 pm) - Via Chad Jennings, A-Rod has acknowledged that he is participating in the Galea investigation and will cooperate accordingly. “This is about someone else,” Rodriguez said. “I’m going to cooperate as best I can and focus on baseball.”
