Here’s Marc Carig outlining Joba Chamberlain’s intrasquad performance from earlier today:
Faced 19 batters in five separate “innings,” recording 15 outs (including 3DP), 6H, 2ER, 1BB, 1K (75 pitches, 48 strikes). Allowed three extra-base hits (doubles to Gorecki, Miranda and Winn). Austin Romine was Chamberlain’s catcher.
Chamberlain faced the following hitters…
Golson (0-for-1)
Gorecki (1-for-1), double
Hoffmann (2-for-3), 1BB
Miranda (1-for-4), double
Mike Rivera (0-for-3)
Thames (0-for-1)
Weber (0-for-2)
Winn (2-for-3), double
Meanwhile, Phil Hughes went 4 1/3 against Philly, giving up 4 ER on 5 hits (3 HR).
He did strike out 6, however.
