Yanks release Chad Gaudin
According to Bryan Hoch of MLB.com, the Yankees have unconditionally released, Chad Gaudin. The team is not on the hook for the right-hander’s entire salary, instead, they will pay him 1/4 of the $2.95M he was owed, and he can now sign with another team. Roster space was an issue which prevented the club from keeping Gaudin, but, with Hal Steinbrenner running the show, salary was probably as important of a factor.
