Recap Bits: Damon, Burnett, Joba

The Yankees toppled the Tigers, 2-1, and here are a few items from that game:

  • Former Yankee LF, Johnny Damon, went 1-for-2 today and is hitting .341 over 15 games this spring.
  • A.J. Burnett pitched well, holding Detroit to just 1 ER off of 3 hits over 6 2/3 innings pitched (2 K, 3 BB).
  • Joba Chamberlain made his first “official” appearance as a reliever, tossing a scoreless inning (2H, 1 K).

Joba reportedly topped out at 94 mph on the radar gun. Maybe we’ll see 97-98 mph again this year…
