Quick Bits: Bernie, Rings, A-Rod

April 8, 2010, 8:00 pm by · 1 Comment

Here are a few quick items on the day:

  • Bernie Williams will throw out the ceremonial first pitch on Monday, for the Yankees’ home opener.
  • Speaking of the opener, the Yankees will receive their WS rings that day, too (Hideki Matsui will be on hand).
  • Federal investigators are reportedly questioning those who have worked with Alex Rodriguez in the past.

This questioning stems from the ongoing Anthony Galea investigation. Basically, in their attempts to accurately assess A-Rod’s relationship with Dr. Galea, who is currently being investigated for the distribution of performance enhancing substances, federal officials will seek conversations with trainers, assistants, etc. They have already reached out to Angel Presinal, one of Alex’s former trainers who has essentially been banned from baseball – he cannot enter private areas in any organization – since 2002.
