Even with their ace, CC Sabathia, on the mound, the Yankees lost today, 4-2, as Dallas Braden – who had a few words for Alex Rodriguez during and after the game – and Oakland’s bullpen pitched well enough to impede the New York offense. CC’s line on the night certainly wasn’t necessarily his best – 8 IP 4 H 4 R 3 ER 6 BB 5 BB 1 HR – as command was obviously an issue, but he kept the Yankees in the game (he can thank his infield for helping him pitch as long as he did). The Bombers miss an opportunity to sweep before traveling to Matsuiland, but you can’t complain when you walk away with an 11-4 record and a series win.
