Bobby Wilson not upset with Mark Teixeira

Via Lyle Spencer of MLB.com:
“It’s baseball,” [Wilson] said. “From Tex’s standpoint, he was playing baseball. That’s the way the game’s played. I have looked at it to see if there was enough plate there. I probably won’t.”
In the second half of the 2008 season, Wilson had a locker next to Teixeira’s in a corner of the Angels’ clubhouse. He doesn’t want to think his former teammate would have tried to injure him.
“I know Tex as a person,” Wilson said. “That’s not the kind of thing you’d expect him to do. He called over [to the Angels' clubhouse] to make sure I was all right. He said he was sorry, that his intent wasn’t to hurt me.
“I just wish I had been better prepared for the contact. The last hop brought me back up while I was going down and hit me in the mask. That’s what he felt was the best way to get there.”
To the dismay of Torii Hunter, I honestly thought that the play at home was clean. However, looking back on it, I also think Teixeira was somewhat “eager” to get into that type of play since he was plunked a few pitches earlier. That’s not to say that he did anything wrong, just that he had more of a reason to slide hard without any hesitation.
