Thanks to an effective outing from Phil Hughes – 7 IP 4 H 0 ER 1 BB 6 K – who is now 3-0 on the season, as well as an impressive offensive display, particularly from Mark Teixeira (4-for-5, 2 RBI), Nick Swisher (3-for-4, 2 RBI, HR), Robinson Cano (2-for-4, 3 RBI, HR), and Brett Gardner (2-for-4, 2 RBI, HR), the Yankees rolled over the White Sox today, winning 12-3. They’ve won 7 of 8 series, and now own a 16-8 record (the Rays lead the AL East, 18-7).
