Morning Bits: Recap, Vazquez, Joba

Here are a few noteworthy items on the morning:
- Thanks to A.J. Burnett and Francisco Cervelli, the Yankees beat Baltimore last night, 4-1.
- Right-hander, Javier Vazquez, is “not surprised” about having his next start pushed back.
- With Mariano Rivera unavailable last night, Joba picked up his second save of the season.
Joba’s regular velocity – on all of his pitches, not just the fastball – has started creeping upward, though he’s still not in the 95-97 mph range. Perhaps, with a few more outings, he could get closer to that side of the spectrum, though it is not essential (and maybe it’s just not possible).
