Morning Bits: Recap, Miranda, Swisher, Jeter

Here are a few quick items on the morning:

  • The Yankees lost to the Tigers yesterday, 6-0, as CC Sabathia did not have his best stuff.
  • With that loss – their 4th over 5 – the Yankees ended their 7-game road trip with a 3-4 record.
  • Juan Miranda was recalled yesterday and started the game at first (Tex DH’d). He went 0-for-3.
  • Nick Swisher has remained out of the lineup with seemingly minor soreness in his left bicep.
  • Swisher will see Dr. Chris Ahmad at YS today.  He experiences soreness when batting lefty.
  • Speaking of soreness, Derek Jeter was inadvertently plunked today by Justin Verlander.

Jeter says he’s fine – of course – but Joe Girardi might be cautious with him today.
