Rosenthal: Yanks to seek bat, bullpen help

According to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports, the Yankees will likely seek both offensive help and bullpen help, at some point, this season. Rosenthal cites the recent slumps of Francisco Cervelli and Brett Gardner, as well as the loss of Nick Johnson, for the desire to add offense. He also adds that the team will probably go after some relief help, even if Alfredo Aceves returns without having to undergo back surgery (he recently received a second epidural).
While I think Rosenthal is correct in that the Yankees are likely to seek some offensive help, I think it will be in the form of a bench bat rather than a big-name player (if Gardner slumps hard, or if there is a substantial injury, that could certainly change, though). Also, instead of trading for relievers, the bullpen might be helped via internal options. For instance, if the Yankees choose to jettison Chan Ho Park, then Mark Melancon could get a chance to stick. Melancon sports a 2.33 ERA in Scranton and has struck out 34 batters over 27 innings.
