Alex Rodriguez pulled with groin tightness
In the 9th inning of today’s game, a game in which the Yankees won, 4-3, Alex Rodriguez was replaced at third base with Ramiro Pena. At first I thought it was actually a defensive change, however, after the game, Joe Girardi noted that A-Rod was removed due to some tightness in his right groin. Girardi added that the switch was largely precautionary as A-Rod felt no pain, just “tightness.” They didn’t want to take any chances with a lead in tow and Mariano Rivera coming in. The team has a day off tomorrow, so hopefully his groin will feel better by Tuesday.
