Yanks re-sign Chad Gaudin

May 26, 2010 by iYankees · 1 Comment

How inevitable was this move? The Yankees have re-signed right-hander Chad Gaudin, who was recently released by the A’s, adding him to their bullpen as a long reliever. This is likely a reaction to the loss of Alfredo Aceves, as the reliever reaggravated a back injury yesterday that could ultimately lead to surgery. Presumably, Sergio [...]

Game rained out, Aceves headed to the DL

May 11, 2010 by iYankees · 11 Comments

According to Joe Girardi, Alfredo Aceves is likely headed to the disabled list with a buldging disc in his back. Though we initially heard that Aceves would be back quickly, this news is not all that surprising when you consider that Aceves also dealt with back issues during the spring. More on this later…

If one of CC Sabathia, A.J. Burnett, Andy Pettitte, Javier Vazquez, or Phil Hughes suffer from an injury, who should the Yankees then choose to fill that rotation slot? In this case, who should start might be different from who will start. Also, if you believe that another avenue is ultimately necessary in order to [...]

Eighth inning up for grabs this year?

April 1, 2010 by iYankees · 27 Comments

Here’s an interesting article from Joel Sherman of the NY Post:
