Here are a few league-wide bits to start the day:

The Yanks are in China showcasing their World Series trophy while acting as baseball ambassadors.
Apparently, the Giants’ arbitration talks with fellow UW alumnus, Tim Lincecum, are not going very well.
Conversely, the Tigers avoided arbitration with Justin Verlander, inking him to a 5-year deal for $80M.

Joe Mauer, 26, has been named the American League’s Most Valuable Player after hitting a robust .365/.444/.587 in 2009.
