Morning Bits: WS Trophy, Wang, Damon, Swisher, PECOTA

Ah, finally–the end of a busy week.

Let’s kick off the day with a few noteworthy news items:

  • The Yankees will be bringing their WS Trophy on a “tour” through Asia beginning in Tokyo.
  • Chien-Ming Wang could sign soon as there are currently “four or five” teams in pursuit of the righty.
  • The Toronto Blue Jays, who could use another corner outfielder, have checked in on Johnny Damon.
  • Nick Swisher, Damon’s lockermate, wishes he could have been his “road dog” for a few more years.
  • PECOTA projections are out (seen above), and the numbers have caused somewhat of a stir.

Baseball Prospectus’ system projects the Yanks to win 93 games in 2010–good for 3rd in the AL East.
