Dombrowski on Damon: “We are always open to improving our club”
According to FOX Sports’ Jon Paul Morosi, who, earlier today, spoke with Tigers GM, Dave Dombrowski, when asked whether or not the Tigers would pursue Johnny Damon, Dombrowski refused to comment, which seems to indicate that some level of interest does, indeed, exist between the two parties. Dombrowski also added the infamous, “We are always open to improving our club,” which only works to support this notion (if there was no interest, Dombrowski could have said as much). Furthermore, LoHud‘s Sam Borden states that the Tigers are “mildly interested” in Damon.
It looks like the desperate actions of Scott Boras – seen yesterday, in the Detroit News – might have worked.
